The Long Island man who killed four people in a drunken car crash into a nail salon and then rejected a plea deal got the maximum prison sentence on Wednesday, Aug. 12, authorities said.
Steven Schwally, 66, of Deer Park, was sentenced to 25 years to life on four second-degree murder convictions, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.
Schwally “drank until his blood alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit,” District Attorney Ray Tierney said. “Four families are now living with the deadly consequences.”

A New York man accused of sexually abusing four girls for years in Lancaster has been convicted of more than 50 sexual offenses following a four-day jury trial, prosecutors announced.
Dennis Iluminado Martinez, 40, of Brooklyn, was found guilty on Thursday, July 16, of more than 50 offenses, including two counts of rape of a child, four counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, and 15 counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office.
